What the flat rate covers
One price, quoted up front, for every standard passenger vehicle we test — car, truck, hybrid, diesel, out-of-state or title transfer. There is no member rate, no coupon to print and no “mention this ad”. Heavy-duty vehicles and RVs are priced separately; ask when you call.
Included in the $59.75
The full STAR-certified smog inspection: the emissions test itself, the visual check of your vehicle's emissions equipment, and electronic submission of the result to the DMV. Most vehicles are finished in eight to fifteen minutes.
Billed separately
The California smog certificate fee is set by the state rather than by us, so it is charged on top of the $59.75 and appears separately on your receipt. We accept both cash and cards.
Vehicles we test
Gasoline, diesel, and hybrid vehicles, plus out-of-state registrations and title transfers. Vehicles exempt from testing include gasoline models from 1975 and earlier, diesels from 1997 and earlier, electric vehicles, and motorcycles.
If your car fails
Ask us about a pre-inspection first — it tells you where you stand before a result is reported to the state. If a repair bill follows, California's Consumer Assistance Program may cover part of the cost for qualifying drivers, and the Bureau of Automotive Repair referee line handles disputes.
If your DMV renewal notice directs you to a STAR-certified station, Brand Smog Check Center qualifies. Walk in Monday to Friday between 8AM and 6PM, or Saturday between 8AM and 4PM — no appointment required. Your smog certificate stays valid for 90 days from the day it is issued.

Every price we charge, on one page. Nothing here changes at the counter, and the state certificate fee of $8.25 is added to all of them — that one is set by California and every station in the state has to charge it.
